Q: How long does it take to process applications?
A: Typically 1 month. Applications from Indian students can be processed with less time.

Q: What about staying facilities in Mumbai?
A: Limited hostel facilities exist at Bhaktivedanta Institute, Mumbai, which are of the shared room/common bath type. Admitted students often apply for a scholarship which pays for stay in the hostel.

Overseas students may wish to consider obtaining a "paying guest" accommodation near the Institute in Juhu - a single room with an attached bath in a private house, having kitchen access in some cases. They cost between US$175 to US$220 per month when available.  Upon receipt of the offer of admission, overseas students should seek help from our local office in locating a paying-guest accommodation. Information on how to contact our local office, as well as a basic information kit for preparing their trip to India would be sent to overseas students, soon after the offer of admission.

Q: Are scholarships or other forms of financial aid available?
A: A limited number of scholarships are available for students from developing countries. We expect the students from other countries to require no financial assistance, given the comparatively extreme low cost of living in India, and the cost of the program itself.

Q: Can you tell me a bit about Mumbai?
A: Mumbai is India's premiere city. One will see modern Western ways of living comfortably combine with the ancient Indian culture. Expect to see frenetic living, traffic jams and pollution-laden roads during the day, while you can attend by the evening superb classical dance/music events, or visit ancient temples that transport one tens of centuries into the past. The Juhu beach is minutes away by walk from the Bhaktivedanta Institute campus. Driving two hours from the city, one can escape into the dazzling rain forests at the foothills of Matheran.
