DISSERTATION TITLE: Psychophysiology of Emotion

ABSTRACT

The biological substrates of emotion have long been speculated from Darwinian and Jamesian era. Body physiology plays a major role in emotion elicitation in the organism. Other than the autonomic nervous system, neural correlates like prefrontal cortex and insular cortex along with the amygdala and other mid-brain regions also play a role. Additionally, emotion elicitation as a means of information transfer is suggested as an alternative way to look at emotion and future speculations on emotion research has been made.
